Coursework
Class Projects
The course was divided into two units, each with a major assignment due at the end of the unit. Halfway through each unit I turned in a draft of my major project as a work in progress, and a plan for revision. I shared my draft project with the class for feedback and inspiration. At this time I also provided beta reads and peer-reviews to several of my other classmates to assist them. Then I revised my work based on the feedback that I received from the professor and my classmates and turned each project in along with a personal reflection.

Class Journals
- In-Class Play Journal
I kept an In-class Play journal, where I completed my in-class writing work that was assigned for each class. - Try this Journal
I kept a Try This journal, where each week I completed exploratory and experimental writing work from two “Try This” writing prompt exercises from each chapter in the textbook.
Unit One: “Maker Spaces”
Unit One focused on the “elements of craft,” essential writing tools that include: image, voice, character, setting, and story.
At the end of the unit I brought those elements to life through a physical publishing project that required a tactile, material way of producing and sharing my writing.

Unit Two: “Digital Spaces”
Unit Two studied the four core genres—creative nonfiction, fiction, poetry, and drama. I explored the possibilities of digital writing in a project that required me to use digital resources to produce a electronic text in a medium or mode of my choice.
